My name is Hope Chancey. I am the owner and operator of Hope's Happy Paws.

As a child growing up in Maine my family has always had cats or dogs in our lives. That is when my love and passion for animals started. I credit being around animals for helping me be the responsible, kind and compassionate person I am today. Animals are full of joy, unconditional love and kindness. I strive to live my life being the same way.

When I was in my early twenties I started dog walking and pet sitting. That planted the seed that someday I would like to own my own pet care business.

Over the years I have been fortunate to be a part of many families lives working as a nanny. I provided daily care for multiple children and the family pets. I am so thankful for the bonds I formed.

I live in Gorham, Maine with my husband and our rescue dog Sam. When we adopted Sam at the end of 2010 he came to us with many challenges. He was very shy and reactive to strangers. He also has anxiety to many things in the environment. We were fortunate to find the help of a great trainer and took many of her classes. This helped provide us with the tools to guide Sam into being the awesome more confident dog that he is today. Every day we are able to use these tools to help him to continue to grow and learn.

I find great happiness in seeing the changes he has gone through and how he continues to overcome so many challenges. Bringing him into our family was the best decision we could have made and he has made us better people.

Thank you so much for considering me and trusting me to care for your furry family member. It truly means the world to me. I look forward to forming many great long lasting relationships!
